This website

mimic2.com sets no cookies at all. Three things do happen when you open a page:

• If you switch language, your choice is saved in your browser's own storage so the site remembers it next time. That value never leaves your device.
• Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless, does not follow you between sites, and reports only aggregate figures such as page, country and referring site.
• Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request directly to Google, which receives your IP address and browser version as part of it.

Playing the game

The game runs on play.mimic2.com and needs an account. The only way to create one is Sign in with Google, and all we receive from it is an identifier for your Google account and your email address. We never see your Google password, your name, your profile picture or your contacts.

Your email address is used to recognise your account and to reach you if something goes wrong with it. It is not used for marketing, and there is no newsletter to be added to.

Alongside the account we store the things the game is made of:

• Your character name, level and progress.
• Items, currency, upgrades and everything else in your inventory.
• Battle records: kills, damage totals and the times battles started and finished.
• A signed session token on your device that keeps you logged in until it expires.
• Ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses and are used to keep the game running and to investigate abuse.

What other players can see

The leaderboard shows character names next to kill counts and damage figures, and anyone playing can read it. Your email address and account details are never shown there.

Pick a character name you are happy to have seen in public. It does not need to be your real name, and we would rather it was not.

Who else handles your data

Running the game means a few other companies process some of it on our behalf:

• Google: sign-in, and the fonts on this website.
• Cloudflare: delivering this website and counting its page views.
• Our server host, which stores the game database and its backups.
• Google Play, if you installed the Android app, under its own privacy policy.

How long it is kept

Account and game data stay for as long as the account exists. Ask us to delete it and it goes, character and all. That cannot be undone, so we will confirm with you first.

Aggregate visitor numbers are held by Cloudflare on their own schedule and cannot be traced back to an individual.

Your choices

Email us and we will tell you what is stored about you, correct anything wrong, or delete the account and everything attached to it. Depending on where you live you may have a legal right to all three, but you do not need to quote a law at us. Just ask.

You can also remove Mimic2's access from your Google account settings at any time. That stops the sign-in working, but it does not delete the game data, so email us too if that is what you want.

Children

The game is not intended for children under 13, and accounts should not be created by them. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area and under 16, please ask a parent or guardian first. If you believe a child has made an account, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this page

If what we collect changes, say because purchases are added, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. Nothing already collected is ever repurposed for something you were not told about.
